Are you ready to leave school or already left school and looking for an apprenticeship to give you a trade for life? We have a rare and exciting opportunity for the role of Apprentice Bus and Coach Mechanic based at our Galashiels depot.
Borders Buses operate a network of bus routes across the Scottish Borders, North Northumberland, Carlisle, East Lothian, Midlothian and Edinburgh.
The successful candidate will be based within the mechanical workshop and will be involved in learning about the service, maintenance and repair of vehicles including removal and replacement of major components such as engines and gearboxes.
Formal apprenticeship training will be conducted at Glasgow Training Group where the apprentice will complete course modules under the guidance of a dedicated team of professionals, with practical and on the job training conducted at our own premises in Galashiels. In return for commitment to learning when attending training off-site the Company take care of travelling expenses, accommodation costs and meals.
